Individual Psychotherapy

We all need a space that is unapologetically our own, a space to feel heard, seen, and understood. We need a space to heal.

I am eager to build that space with you in our work together.

My therapy practice is facilitated through somatic healing and informed by years of practice as a community organizer, group dialogue facilitator, and faculty member at the University of Washington School of Social Work. I have extensive experience working with clients who experienced physical and sexual trauma, as well as clients who have perpetuated violence, themselves. I work with all adult and late-teen populations, specializing in working with adult men and LGBTQ+ folks.

I also specialize in working with folks who are experiencing anxiety or depression.

I approach my practice believing that we need more than talk therapy alone to unlock our wellness and healing. We need to tune into our body! Together, we’ll work to deepen your understanding of self and the world around you by exploring your body as a shape, molded by a lifetime of your lived experiences. We’ll build a space for you to feel the texture of your life. We’ll honor all parts of who you are, knowing that the "best" and "worst" versions of you both deserve dignity and care.

I believe that everyone has the tools for their own healing; my role is to help you reconnect with those resources you inherently have.

Here are some important summary points for you to know about my practice and me, personally:

  • I use a combination of modalities to guide our work. My approach is informed by tenets of somatic trauma healing, parts work, and psychodynamic psychology.

  • I work with all adult and late-teen populations. I specialize in working with adult men and LGBTQ+ folks.

  • I am exclusively practicing via telehealth (online/virtual) at this time. I am licensed to work with clients who reside in Illinois, Michigan, Utah, and Washington state.

  • Call In Your People is currently accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Blue Choice insurance plans. Please be sure to call your insurance company directly to confirm your benefits for outpatient therapy before beginning therapy with us. If you have any other type of insurance, Call In Your People would be considered an out-of-network provider with your plan. In that case, individual sessions are $160/session. I allocate a limited number of sliding scale slots for folks who benefit from it. I believe that therapy is an immensely worthwhile investment! I also know that many of us do not have access to the financial resources to easily make that investment in our wellness. You are worth the investment and I am happy to explore how to make it feel more doable for you.

  • My background is in community organizing and group work; I have always been hyper-relational in my social change practice, which is what led me to also work with individuals. I approach all of my work from a place of non-judgement and unconditional care for my clients. That means: I haven’t even met you, but I already care deeply for you!

  • Throughout my life, I have lived in metro-Detroit, Seattle, and Chicago. I have a giant dog, who I love beyond measure. I have grown to love coffee, collect cookbooks, and am fascinated by space despite not knowing much of anything about physics.

I am currently accepting new clients! Please feel welcome to email me and schedule a free consultation: eli@callinyourpeople.org
